"Twenty-two of the 41 aboard were killed when this Resort Airlines plane crashed and burned in attempting a landing at Standiford Field near Louisville, Ky., yesterday. On board were Puerto Rican GIs on their way to Fort Knox. The injured and dead are seen scattered among the wreckage of the plane while rescue workers seek to free them."
