Large stereo photograph by C.H. James from the "Electric Light Views in the Caverns of Luray" series. 4.25 x 7 inches with light surface soil and wear. Overall Very Good. The Luray caverns were discovered by locals in Page County, Virginia in 1878, and were illuminated as a tourist attraction particularly geared to encourage travel on the Shenandoah Valley Railroad. One of a series of images published by photographer C.H. James and the Luray Cave and Hotel Company.
